At HJ Donohoe, we take sustainability seriously. We believe in running our business in a way that’s good for the environment, fair to people, and built to last. Our goal is to do the right thing not just for our clients, but also for our team, our suppliers, and the communities we work in.

We’re always working to reduce our environmental impact. Whether we’re on site or in the office, we make sure our work is as efficient and low-impact as possible.

• Managing Waste: We reuse and recycle wherever we can. On-site, we follow clear processes to sort and reduce waste, and we’re always looking for smarter, cleaner ways to do things.
• Cutting Carbon: We’re moving towards lower-emission machinery and electric tools, and we work with suppliers who are serious about green technology and sustainability.
• Caring for Nature: We manage our sites carefully to protect local wildlife and keep green spaces intact. Things like hedgerows and boundary lines are looked after properly to support biodiversity.

Supporting People and Communities

People are at the heart of what we do, and we want to make a positive impact wherever we work.

• Hiring Locally: Wherever possible, we employ local people. It’s good for the community and it helps build strong teams who know the area.

• Modern Tools & Tech: We’ve moved much of our admin online to cut down on paper use. It also helps us run things more smoothly and reduce waste.
• Thinking Long-Term: We always look for ways to deliver value without cutting corners – solutions that work today and into the future.

Always Improving

Sustainability isn’t a box we tick – it’s something we’re always working on. We regularly review how we operate and look for better ways to do things. Whether it’s new equipment, new processes, or training our team, we’re always aiming to do better.
